Veterans Day dinners and other specials. Annual finance report - must send a copy of 990 and email confirmation to state council. New Fastrack for VA claims online.
Fundraising - Sam’s Club next week. Sign up sheet also for Pizza Inn
Honor Guard - 1 funeral last month. Conway next weekend - POW/MIA ceremony by Jerry and taps. Instructions for Veteran’s Day given. 10 AM at monuments. Black, long sleeve.
OLD BUSINESS-
November 13th - Ride for POW’s who died. Rich is attending.
Christmas- next meeting Dec 7th, dinner with families, 6 PM
NEW BUSINESS-
Will sponsor 2 $250 Walmart cards for 2 veterans families at Christmas party.

Communications - Veterans Welcome Home, Sands Dunes Resort, want sponsors. Oct. 30, 2010. Letter from Stephanie Olsen, Special Kids Program, would help for their kids during Christmas. Letter from Rev. Joe Russ - looking for money from us. Discussion - he should be under VA
Fund Raising - Nov 12 and 13 poppy sale at Sam’s Club - need volunteers
Pizza Inn - discussion on it, sign up sheet will circulate in Nov and Dec to see if we have enough interest. Need 16 people to work.
Honor Guard - no funerals past month. Nov. 11th ceremony - schedule will be discussed next meeting.
2 new guests this meeting were present.
Charles - First president passed away. 2 sicknesses reported.
OLD BUSINESS
Paid Honor Guard - must train with the military to be paid.
IRS - we are OK with our tax-exempt status. Must file 990N or ePost each year.
NEW BUSINESS -
Jerry - should we send 1 or 2 members to each State Council meeting. People cover cost now. Want the chapter to pay for that. Motion to pay $200 cost per Board member - passed.
Jerry - Motion - get a plaque for Bob Fautner, a Conway resident, who has done so much for veterans - Passed
Nov 13 - 116 mile ride for the 116 POW’s that died in captivity. 4:30 ceremony - want one of the chapter officers to be present.
State Council Meeting - all veterans can go. Monck’s Corner this past month. Charles and Jerry went. Want the chapter to help with a tote bag for the state council meeting. Motion - want to donate 250 pens and 250 Support Your Troops magnetic stickers for meeting - passed.
Military Appreciation Day - date is May 28th. All events in the downtown of Myrtle Beach.
VA may be putting float in Aynor Christmas Parade. We may man the float.
Education Outreach Program - meeting with Director of Curriculum. VVA has a book on how to do it.

Jerry - Honor Guard did 4 funerals, Ocean Lakes 4th of July, Veterans Day in November - practice in 2-3 weeks. People are very appreciative of the Honor Guard
Fund Raising - Pizza Inn - April 19th, Oct. 18th, 2011 (Tuesday) - need 16 people from 4 PM - 10 PM. Tabled until next month so we can then do sign ups.
Poppy fund raising - Friday, November 12 to 13th. Sam’s Club in Myrtle Beach. 9 AM -
New Business -
Motion - Chapter take care of Honor Guard meal when at a function. Passed.
Veterans Day - Conway, 11 AM Will read names, ring bell, wreathes redone.
State Council Meeting on 9/11. In Charleston - Rich, Jerry, and Charles going.
Stickers - offering during Fund Raising. Motion to buy 500 more - second, passed
Bob - Military Appreciation for next year. 1 day, Sat. May 29th in downtown Myrtle Beach
Education Outreach to schools- motion approved.
Ed - Honor Guard may get paid $50 from VA. He will check.

Council wants us to sponsor a meeting.

Fundraising: Friday, May 14th and 15th. at Sam’s. New rule - start at 10 AM. Remodeling so don’t know where we are going to be.

Honor Guard - still on hold until warmer weather

Old Business: Vote at State Council. for paying for state newsletter. $83.52 for our 48 members. We sent a check for $100 as a donation this year.

Visitors: We had 7 visitors tonight. 4 Vietnam Vets, one sister, 2 vets from NY State who now live here.
Correspondence: Letter of thanks regarding our playing of Taps at a service.
Chapter must send delegates to next State council meeting in March or there will be severe consequences. No attendance by chapter in 15 months.
Honor Guard - Spring unless a funeral. New uniform shirts, hats, and patches ordered.
NY Vets - talked about product sales, and other fundraising opportunities and how we can help homeless vets, community vets.
